Entering the Manosphere: Exposing online hate

Re:publica is the festival for the digital society. Since 2007, Europe's most important digital and society conference has been bringing together the most significant voices of our time, offering a platform for debate and exchange - in Berlin and internationally. Our interactive installation invited visitors to navigate the architecture of online misogyny: how memes and irony mask hatred, how algorithms amplify it, and how it shapes political realities beyond the screen. Over three days, hundreds of visitors engaged with our modules, our video installation, and our zines — sparking exactly the kind of intense, uncomfortable, necessary conversations we build this work for.

Online Masculinities and Feminist, Queer & Antiracist Resistance

Rainbow Pill Collective took part in a panel discussion organized by European Alternatives at the feminist bookshop Violette and Co in Paris, on the occasion of the launch of the magazine « Les marges en feu ». The discussion examined how digital platforms amplify masculinist discourses that target and radicalize young men, and how platform architecture accelerates the spread of these ideologies — as well as the violence directed at women, racialized people, and queer communities. The panel brought together journalist and author Pauline Ferrari, specialist in new technologies, gender, and web cultures and author of "Formés à la haine des femmes" (2023); Albane Gaillot, co-director of the Planning Familial and former MP behind the 2022 law extending abortion access in France; Laure Salmona, feminist activist, author, and expert on cyber gender-based violence and co-founder of Féministes contre le cyberharcèlement; alongside NousTouStes93 antiraciste and the Rainbow Pill Collective. Together, we questioned what resistance looks like today — and whether we can still use digital spaces to defend our rights.
